An interactive business simulation where teams play VP of Finance & Strategy. Allocate budgets across departments, choose strategic directions, respond to market events, and compete against AI-driven rivals across 12 scenario contexts spanning 4 countries and 3 industries, entirely in the browser.
Whether you're grading a cohort or running a timed competition, ORAS has a mode designed around your exact needs.
High-stakes, timed rounds with a randomised seed so no two teams see the same scenario. A live leaderboard updates after every locked year.
A fixed seed ensures every student or team faces an identical scenario. This makes scores fully comparable and defensible as grades.
Scroll through budget allocation, strategic direction, and final scoring. Live mock-ups from a real ORAS session.
Instructors/Organizers choose a country and industry combination. Each scenario has its own company, product, currency, competitor set, and news pool, so the simulation always feels native to your context.

Each scenario combination has its own company name, product, competitor set, news pool, and Performance Index. The simulation mechanics are identical across all 12 — making results directly comparable within a cohort.
From opening briefing to final grade, here's what a session looks like from the inside.
Each session opens with a fully randomised scenario. Your team is briefed on the market landscape, consumer segments, AI competitors, and the objective: maximise your company's Performance Index over five years. Scenarios span industries from Electric Vehicles to Pharmaceuticals to Hydration/FMCG, across four countries.
Each year, distribute your budget across departments subject to min/max bounds and a year-over-year change cap. Spending beyond a department's sweet-spot fraction triggers diminishing returns and overfunding one area is as costly a mistake as neglecting another.
Choose a strategic direction for each department from multiple options. Synergies compound powerfully and mismatches waste potential. The combined multiplier shapes every outcome for the full multi-year horizon.
Once locked, the simulation runs. Revenue, profit, market share, competitor results, and news events are revealed. Market events hit after decisions are committed. There is no gaming the system.
Performance is scored 0-1000+ via a composite Performance Index which comprises 50% risk-adjusted profit, 50% market share. Grades update after every locked year. Consistent, balanced strategy beats volatile approaches.
Controller and viewer mode. Decisions, game state, and leaderboard updates sync instantly across all connected devices without polling or page refresh.
Competing teams or AI bots react dynamically to market conditions. Department-targeted news events can force allocation shifts on a specific competitor, cut their budget, or trigger sub-decisions. No session plays out the same way twice.
Revenue curves, market share evolution, competitor breakdowns, and department-level performance are all visible after each year.
Competition Mode surfaces a live ranked leaderboard after every decision round. Grades update immediately on lock.
Adjust budget scale, time horizon, number of rounds, scoring weights, scenario theme, and department min/max bounds to match your course.
Course Mode includes a benchmark solver that computes near-optimal outcomes. This gives instructors a principled grade reference point.
Operations hard-caps what Sales can deliver, and R&D unlocks the ceiling for other departments. Underfunding the wrong department doesn't just cost points, it actively blocks what the rest of your team can achieve.
Your product's visible specifications include range, efficacy, formulation, and more. These change each year based on R&D allocations and sub-decisions. Competitors' specs evolve too, creating a living competitive landscape students can observe and respond to.
ORAS is entirely browser-based. No installation, no accounts for participants required, no IT ticket. Share a URL and you're live.
